Who I Am:
I am a 20-year resident of the Estes Park School District and a lifelong advocate of public education. I am the mother of 3 adult children that received an education from the skilled and dedicated teachers of the Estes Park schools. I am retired from a 30-year career in international business with HP/Hewlett Packard Enterprise. I currently serve as the director of the Allenspark Community Cupboard Foodbank and am a trained volunteer with Estes Park Restorative Justice. The most effective board is one that has members with diverse backgrounds and experiences. I have lived and worked internationally (Barcelona, Spain & Glasgow, Scotland) and am confident I will bring a unique perspective to the Estes Park Board of Education.
Why I'm Running:
I believe that strong public schools are the foundation of our community and indeed our economy. I wish to use my background in business and management, as well as community service, to help our schools with their awe-inspiring responsibility of educating the next generation of leaders and global citizens. We can reach our education goals by fostering an environment of creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving. We can reach our goals if we value each student as an individual and do everything possible to meet their individual needs. We can reach our goals if we support our teachers and allow them to use their education, experience, and expertise in our classrooms. I’m running for the Estes Park School Board because I believe in forward progress, and I believe in our students!
